"Trauma is an invisible force that shapes our lives.
It shapes the way we live, the way we love and
the way we make sense of the world.
It is the root of our deepest wounds."
Gabor Mate
How to shift the painful patterns that keep you stuck?
What we see on the surface - addiction, binge eating, self sabotage, abusive relationships, social anxiety - is often the result of hidden layers of unmet attachment needs and traumas that may be rooted in our childhood. Trauma is not what happened to us - it is how our nervous system reacted to the things that happened to us, both the big things and small things that persisted over time.
Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) can address all types of trauma or attachment wounding, both recent and childhood trauma, both big T and small t trauma. Once the trauma is healed, the coping mechanisms we unconsciously developed are also greatly reduced, and often eliminated.
What is ART?
ART is a form of therapy that uses eye movements or bilateral stimulation combined with memory image replacement that works to reprogram the way distressful images are stored in the brain. ART has been demonstrated to create new patters of behaviour and thought.
How is it different?
ART does not involve talking. Many people experience significant relief after only one session. On average ART resolves the presenting problem in two to five sessions, depending on the severity of the problem. Clients may wish to only use ART therapy, or may continue with traditional talk therapy once they've experience relief from the presenting issue.
Evidence Based
ART is officially recognized as an effective psychotherapy for trauma, depression, stress, and personal resilience. It is classified as a promising therapy for phobias, panic, anxiety, and sleep disorders.
